For You

Good Sunday morning all!  It has been a lovely week, full of winners and many more today from the weekly comment game as well!  I have a rather simple card for you but it is very striking I think!  I started by cutting a piece of coconut white card and simply using the cutting edge from the Carina die set on one side of it.  Next I embossed that piece of card using the Bed Of Roses embossing folder.  I cut the Carina die out of another piece of white card using the opposite cutting edge on the bottom of it.  I glued it into place under my embossed piece so the pretty decorative edge showed and the cut edge on the embossed piece lined up with the die cut.  I cut a strip of black card and covered it with a sticky adhesive piece.  I peeled the backing off and coated it with Ebony Ice and glued it in place underneath my die cut edge.  I cut a length of scarlet satin ribbon and made a flower following the same technique in my very first video (called Silver Ribbon Flowers)  I added my red flower with some white Mosaic leaves, black satin ribbon bow and matching stick pins.  I stamped a sentiment tag and tucked it under my flower.  I finished the card off with a black pearl swirl and my paper piercing and matting and layering.  The finished dimensions are 8" x  8" in size.

Now for the Weekly Comment Game winners.  This weeks winners are:

Crossstitchmarg!!!
Patwyn!!!
Lorraine Eastwood!!!

For the extra qualifying post of May 4th, the winners are:
Kathy Baker!!!
Crafting Queen!!!
Hetty Garlick!!!

For the extra qualifying post of May 6th, the winners are:
Swiftycrafter!!!
Tracey Short!!!
Elizabeth Beal!!!

For the extra qualifying post of  May 8th, the winners are:
Dawn Malpass!!!
carole bennett!!!
Jodee Keal!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize.  Al for now, Sue x

Hi SUe

A gorgeous card again. Another pretty feminine one.

I was surprised to win a comment prize again, thank you so much. As it was only a few months ago I have e-mailed you to re-draw my gift so that someone else can have a chance to receive a super stamp set from you. I hope you don't mind me asking that, or think that I don't appreciate your generosity because I really do. It's very unusual for me to win anything, let alone twice in a few months!!!!
Congrats to all the other winners.

Hi Sue
I would hardly call it simple. Having said that sometimes, simple says it best.
Loving your colour combo of black white and red. I think it is such a fabulous look. It would look equally stunning in other colour combos as it is such a lovely style.
Adding to my long list of 'to do' cards.

Hi Sue

First of all, happy mothers day to you, Mom and all the mothers in the US, Canada, Australia and anywhere else you might be celebrating today. Hugs to you all x

Wow Sue, what an absolutely stunning card! Both the die and the embossing folder are on the list and pretty near the top so they shall be ticked off in the next couple of months I should think! Shall definitely try a version of with what I have though as the layout is just so striking. The colours work so well and I shall be trying them out as well as other combinations. A change of sentiment and this would suit many an occasion- thinking the vintage gold and milk for a wedding? I always think wedding when I see that embossing folder for some reason!

Alison, glad we helped a little, thinking of you and sending hugs x

Congratulations to the comment game winners, enjoy your prizes! x

The sun was out and the wind, though still pretty chilly had dropped so Mr W took me in town for an hour, he needed som camping stove canisters and we stopped for a coffee too. When we got home I settled down for a rest and a cuddle with Billy while he did tea then we just caught up with some tv off the sky box. A quiet day but lovely to get out of the house for a while, Billy happily asleep now and hoping I'll do the same!

Happy crafting and hugs to all of you, I have loads extra if you need them :-)

Good morning Sue,
My imagination is at it again Sue because this reminds me of a spanish dancer. The hair done in a bun with the flower and the hat pins sticking out from it. The filigree of the sticky swirl is the swirl of the dance, the arms up giving it laldie with their movements. Yip i can see this with the colours and the design giving off a dancer and the grace she holds just like this card. Thank you Sue for the memories being brought back to life through your beautiful card.
Love and crafty hugs
